Portland Container (PCR) has been providing containerized cargo services to the Pacific Northwest for more than 30 years. PCR employs more than one hundred people, has a fleet of 85 trucks, and 400+ intermodal chassis.

Job Description

Diesel Mechanics are responsible for the safe and efficient application of a wide variety of activities in heavy duty trucks following strict DOT regulations and guidelines for Federal Inspections. Diagnostic and engine experience with Freightliner/Detroit preferred but will train the correct candidate. Pay depends on experience. There will also be opportunities to assist with container lift repairs, small engine, hydraulic repair, fleet vehicle maintenance as well as the following listed below:

o Air brake diagnosis and repair
o Brake diagnosis and repair
o Wheel bearing and suspension diagnostics and repair
o Front end diagnostic and repair
o Engine Diagnostics and repair
o Transmission diagnostics and repair
o Differential diagnostics and repair
o Electronics diagnosis and repair
o Exhaust/ DPF repair and replacement
o General maintenance of vehicle

Your Qualifications

o 2 or more years of experience with heavy diesel mechanics (We have a Freightliner fleet, so Detroit knowledge is a plus).
o Will also accept candidates with a Diesel tech degree and a mechanical aptitude and/or background that fits our needs.
o Computer knowledge is a plus (We use Fleetio, Geotab, JPRO, and DTNA Connect)
o Must provide own tools.
o Self-motivated
o Excellent communication and customer service skills (to internal & external customers).
