Veterinary Technician for Rehab Clinic

Duties
Assist with implementing rehabilitation protocols including physical therapy, hydrotherapy, and acupuncture under veterinarian supervision
Monitor and record patient progress, vital signs, and response to treatments with precision and attention to detail
Prepare animals for procedures by performing gentle restraint, animal handling, and ensuring proper positioning for imaging or therapy sessions
Maintain a clean, sterile environment by practicing aseptic techniques during procedures such as animal catheterization and wound care
Support laboratory work including sample collection, processing, and analysis related to animal physiology and health assessments
Handle various animals confidently using appropriate restraint techniques while ensuring safety for both animals and staff
Assist with pet grooming, pet care routines, and basic dog training to promote comfort and cooperation during treatments
Requirements
Proven experience working with animals in a veterinary or kennel setting with strong animal husbandry skills
Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices specific to small animals or equine patients
Familiarity with laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, dental terminology, and pet grooming techniques
Ability to perform animal restraint effectively while demonstrating patience and compassion
Experience with pet care routines including pet grooming, dog handling, and basic training methods
Strong understanding of aseptic techniques essential for maintaining sterile environments during procedures
Prior veterinary technician experience preferred; certification as a veterinary technician is highly advantageous
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with veterinarians, clients, and team members
