Our Fabrication Lab is the heart of our custom assembly operations, turning components into precision-engineered pump and motor packages built to exact client specifications.
We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Fabrication Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for laying out, modifying, assembling, and fabricating custom pump, motor, and gearbox packages on steel baseplates.
The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, precise measuring abilities, structural welding skills, and experience working with machine tools and shop power equipment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Assembly & Layout: Precision layout and mounting of pumps, gearboxes, motors, and auxiliary components onto steel baseplates according to technical drawings or job instructions.
Pump Conversions: Convert standard pump configurations into custom orientations, shaft configurations, or mechanical seal setups based on customer specifications.
Welding & Metal Fabrication: Weld riser blocks, mounting brackets, and structural supports to steel baseplates using MIG processes as required.
Machining & Drilling: Perform precise drilling, tapping, countersinking, and threading on steel baseplates and mounting hardware.
Material Cutting & Prep: Measure, stock, cut, and deburr raw materials, channel steel, tubing, and plate using horizontal/vertical bandsaws, grinders, and cold saws.
Quality & Measurement: Measure raw materials and final assemblies using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and tape measures to ensure tight tolerances.
Shop Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized work area, perform routine maintenance on shop equipment, and general building maintenance and follow all safety guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Experience: 2+ years of experience in industrial assembly, mechanical shop fabrication, or equipment manufacturing.

Machining & Shop Tools: Hands-on experience with drill presses, tapping heads, magnetic drills, bandsaws, and angle grinders.
Blueprint Reading & Math: Ability to read shop drawings, technical diagrams, and accurately measure/layout hole patterns and centerline alignments.
Mechanical Aptitude: Experience working with rotating machinery (pumps, gearboxes, electric motors, couplings, seals).
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, operate overhead hoists/cranes, and stand for extended periods.
Preferred:
Prior experience in the fluid handling, pump manufacturing, or industrial equipment distribution sector.
Basic understanding of shaft alignment (dial indicator or laser alignment).
