Fabricator & Welder

Alpine Metals is hiring a full-time, year round Metal Fabricator and Welder specializing in railing and gate fabrication. The position involves fabrication of metal railings, stair components, gates, and other miscellaneous components in our shop. Applicants must be comfortable with layout, fit-up, welding tasks, measuring, and cutting.

Core Responsibilities:

Read and interpret shop drawings
Measure, layout, cut, and shape tubing, plate, angle, etc.
Fit-up and tack assemblies to match design specifications; ensure squareness and alignment
Perform MIG welding; TIG or Stick experience is a plus but not required
Operation of fabrication tools such as grinders, saws, drill presses, band saws, and torches
Operate overhead cranes and forklifts
Receive drawings and verify dimensions, materials, and weld requirements
Perform or assist in accurate layout of railing components including posts, pickets, and brackets in field
Maintain adherence to safe work practices, shop safety, and PPE requirements and usage
General mechanical knowledge in heavy equipment, trucks, forklifts, tractors, and trailers

Qualifications:

Welding/fabrication experience
Ability to read and understand shop plans
Basic math skills as applicable to welding and fabrication assignments
Physically able to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods
Welding certification preferred but not required
Reliable, safety-conscious

Rate: $28-$38/hr DOE

Paid holidays after six months
