Description
Small local manufacturing company in the 10 Mile and Hoover area of Warren, MI is hiring a fabricator / welder for full-time, in-person shop work.
The main work is steel fabrication, welding, fitting, and building equipment skids and related shop parts. This is a hands-on role for someone who can read the job in front of them, work carefully, and stay productive without constant pushing.
What you would work on:
- MIG welding and steel fabrication
- TIG welding when the job calls for it
- Build, fit, square, weld, grind, and finish steel skid frames and brackets
- Cut, drill, tap, measure, layout, and assemble shop components
- Work with tubing, plate, angle, channel, pipe, guards, mounts, and related hardware
- Help with general shop work when needed
- Fabrication, welding, metal shop, machine build, skid build, maintenance, or similar hands-on experience
- Comfortable with MIG welding and normal fabrication tools
- TIG experience is a plus
- Able to measure accurately and keep work clean, square, and organized
- Mechanical ability is a plus
- Reliable transportation is essential
- Punctuality matters. Occasional real-life exceptions are understood, but repeated lateness or attendance problems will not work here
- Past work references are required
- Criminal background check may be required
- Drug testing may be required
- Personal cell phone use during work time is not allowed except for true emergencies or approved breaks. Repeated or serious violations can result in immediate dismissal
This is a small, steady, low-drama shop. The work environment is practical, respectful, and generally low-stress for people who show up on time, work carefully, and stay productive.
We are looking for someone who wants real full-time work. This is not a good fit for someone who wants to stand around, disappear during the day, or needs constant pushing.
Pay:
Starting pay is typically $26-$35/hr depending on experience and skill level. Higher pay is possible after proven job performance.
