Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Facilities Maintenance employee to help maintain the safety, appearance, cleanliness, and daily operation of all ACI campus locations. This position performs routine maintenance and repairs, responds to facility requests, assists with campus setups, and helps ensure a professional environment for students, employees, and visitors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and routine repairs at all ACI campus locations.
Address minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, flooring, furniture, door, and lock repairs within the scope of experience.
Inspect campus buildings and grounds regularly to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and report major concerns to campus leadership.
Complete basic preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, fixtures, and campus property.
Assist outside contractors and vendors with access to campus facilities when needed.
Monitor the general condition of classrooms, laboratories, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
Assemble, move, and arrange furniture, equipment, and classroom materials.
Assist with campus events, classroom setups, office moves, renovations, and special projects.
Maintain an organized inventory of tools, supplies, keys, equipment, and replacement materials.
Help monitor janitorial, landscaping, pest-control, waste-removal, and other facility services.
Ensure maintenance work is completed safely and with minimal disruption to classes and campus operations.
Assist with fire, safety, building, and facility inspections.
Follow campus procedures for building access, keys, alarms, and after-hours entry.
Travel between ACI campus locations as needed.
Perform other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, construction, or a related position preferred.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
Ability to recognize when a repair requires a licensed contractor or specialized service.
Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
Professional communication and customer-service skills.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel between campus locations.
Ability to pass any required background screening.
Maintenance, safety, HVAC, electrical, or related certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in indoor and outdoor conditions.
Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, and basic maintenance equipment.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to respond to occasional urgent or after-hours maintenance needs.

Schedule

This is primarily a Monday-through-Friday position. Occasional early-morning, evening, weekend, or emergency availability may be required for repairs, inspections, campus events, or special projects.
