Facility Specialist
Description
Under general supervision of the Facilities Superintendent, the Facilities Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and repair of assigned County Connection facilities and equipment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of buildings and grounds, including building interiors, pedestrian walkways, and vehicle parking areas.
- Inspect work in progress and on completion to ensure conformance with standard maintenance and repair procedures as well as state, county, and local building codes.
- Inspect and repair equipment, machinery, and tools to ensure good operating condition.
- Coordinate ongoing development and refinement of preventative maintenance programs.
- Order equipment and supplies to support facilities maintenance activities.
- Investigate complaints concerning the maintenance and repair of facilities.
- Assist to ensure compliance with all storm water and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible, hands-on experience performing facilities maintenance, including building repairs, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintenance of building systems, equipment, and grounds.
- Demonstrated knowledge of facilities maintenance practices, methods, tools, materials, and safety procedures, with the ability to independently perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record or be able to utilize an acceptable alternative method of transportation.
• Structured training in building trades (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning) or trade school.
