Facility Maintenance Technician – Dallas, TX
Description
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Facility Maintenance Technician to maintain an approximately 20,000 sq. ft. privately operated commercial clean room facility in Dallas.
Minimum 3 years of experience maintaining commercial buildings or facilities is required.
We are looking for someone who is resourceful and good at figuring things out and fixing things.
If there is a roof leak, damaged drywall, a door that doesn't close properly, a plumbing problem, an HVAC issue, damaged flooring, or equipment that isn't working correctly, we want someone who will investigate the problem, determine the cause, and find a practical solution.
You don't need to know everything, but you should already have solid hands-on building maintenance experience and be comfortable troubleshooting unfamiliar problems.
What You Will Do
General building maintenance and repairs
Drywall repair, patching and painting
Flooring and ceiling tile repairs
Doors, locks, hinges and building hardware
Troubleshoot roof leaks and water intrusion
Perform minor roof and building-envelope repairs
Basic plumbing repairs
HVAC troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
Basic electrical troubleshooting within applicable licensing requirements
Replace filters, belts, motors, switches, sensors and similar components
Troubleshoot mechanical equipment
Use multimeters, hand tools and power tools
Perform preventive maintenance and regular building inspections
Identify problems before they become major repairs
Build, modify or fabricate simple solutions when appropriate
Purchase and organize maintenance parts and supplies
Coordinate electricians, HVAC contractors, plumbers, roofers and other vendors when specialized work is needed
Supervise contractors and verify work is completed properly
Assist with building improvement and construction projects
Keep the facility and maintenance areas clean, organized and in good working condition
Minimum Qualifications
At least 3 years of hands-on commercial building or facility maintenance experience
Experience performing a variety of building repairs rather than working exclusively in one trade
Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
Able to work independently and take ownership of problems
Able to determine when a repair can be handled in-house and when a licensed or specialized contractor is needed
Valid driver's license
Able and willing to travel to Seattle approximately once per month
Experience with HVAC, electrical troubleshooting, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, construction, controls, welding or fabrication is a plus.
EPA 608 certification is preferred but not required.
What Matters Most
We want someone who is resourceful.
When you encounter a problem you haven't seen before, your first response should be to investigate it, understand how it works, research it if necessary, and figure out the best way to solve it.
We are looking for someone who notices problems and takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done.
This is a good position for someone who enjoys being responsible for a building and takes pride in keeping everything working properly.
Travel
This position is based in Dallas, Texas.
The position requires company-paid travel to Seattle approximately once per month to perform maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and improvement projects at another similar facility.
The company will cover required business travel expenses.
Compensation
$55,000–$75,000 per year, depending on experience and capabilities.
Full-time position.
