Description
Townsend Farms, Inc., a family-owned and operated berry farm in Oregon, is seeking a skilled and dependable Farm Shop Mechanic to join our team. This is a full-time, year-round position responsible for maintaining and repairing agricultural equipment, vehicles, tractors, forklifts, and farm machinery that support our daily operations.

What You'll Do
- As our Farm Shop Mechanic, you will:
- Perform preventative maintenance on tractors, forklifts, farm equipment, vehicles, and small engines.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues.
- Conduct oil changes, tune-ups, fluid services, inspections, and equipment servicing.
- Repair, replace, and rebuild components as needed to keep equipment operating efficiently.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications.
- Identify, order, and maintain inventory of replacement parts and supplies.
- Assist in maintaining shop organization, equipment storage areas, and farm facilities.
- Operate farm equipment and vehicles when necessary.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintenance standards.
- We're looking for candidates who have:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with diesel and gasoline engines.
- Knowledge of agricultural equipment, tractors, forklifts, and on/off-road vehicles.
- Experience with hydraulics, electrical systems, welding, and fabrication (preferred).
- Agricultural or farm equipment repair experience (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills (preferred).
- Valid Oregon Driver License with a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Personal mechanic tools are helpful but not required.
- This position requires the ability to:
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in various positions while servicing equipment.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Work safely around noise, dust, oils, fuels, grease, and hydraulic fluids.
- Work overtime, weekends, and seasonal schedules as needed.
