Chain Link Fence & Supply, Inc. has been family owned and operated since 1996. We are a full-service fencing contractor specializing in chain link and ornamental fencing and gate installations or repairs for commercial / industrial and public works applications. We are a member of the American Fence Association, Associated Builders and Contractors, IBEW 1245, Gold Shovel, and ISN. We employ ~34 people.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Fence Erector Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of a commercial fencing installation crew. The Foreman is responsible for ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, schedules, Company standards, and applicable laws and regulations.

The Foreman serves as the primary field-level supervisor for the assigned crew and is responsible for directing employees, coordinating materials and equipment, monitoring production and quality, communicating with management and other jobsite personnel, and helping ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

The successful candidate demonstrates strong leadership, sound judgment, construction knowledge, accountability, communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Crew Supervision and Leadership:

• Direct and supervise the daily activities of assigned fencing crews.
• Assign work to crew members based on project requirements, employee capabilities, and established priorities.
• Provide clear instructions regarding installation methods, sequencing, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
• Monitor employee productivity, workmanship, attendance, and adherence to Company policies.
• Train and coach employees in proper fencing installation techniques, tool use, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
• Lead by example and maintain a professional, respectful, and productive work environment.
• Communicate employee performance concerns to the Superintendent or appropriate supervisor.
• Assist management with evaluating employee performance when requested.
• Ensure employees have the tools, materials, equipment, and information necessary to perform their assigned work.

Fence Installation and Construction:

• Supervise and participate in the installation of commercial fencing systems.
• Review plans, drawings, specifications, and project instructions before and during installation.
• Establish and verify fence line, elevations, post spacing, grades, and gate locations.
• Ensure posts are properly located, aligned, plumbed, set, and secured.
• Supervise installation of chain link fabric, framework, fittings, tension wire, hardware, and related components.
• Supervise installation of commercial gates, gate frames, hinges, latches, locks, closers, and related hardware.
• Perform or supervise cutting, drilling, grinding, fitting, assembly, and other installation work.
• Perform and supervise fence repairs, modifications, removals, and replacements.
• Identify and resolve routine field installation issues.
• Escalate design conflicts, site conditions, material problems, and other issues that cannot be resolved in the field.

Project Coordination:

• Coordinate daily field activities with Management, Superintendent, General Contractor, and other jobsite personnel as appropriate.
• Review the day's work plan and communicate priorities to the crew.
• Monitor project progress against the scheduled production requirements.
• Notify management of delays, site conditions, material shortages, equipment problems, or other issues that may affect project schedule or cost.
• Verify that materials delivered to the jobsite are appropriate for the project and report shortages or discrepancies.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

• Previous commercial construction or fencing experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of fencing installation methods and practices.
• Ability to lead and direct a field crew.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
• Ability to perform measurements and basic calculations.
• Ability to communicate clearly with employees, supervisors, and other jobsite personnel.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
