Description

Field Coordinator

Inspired Closets Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA | Full-Time

Help Us Get It Right Before Installation Day

Inspired Closets Pittsburgh designs and installs premium custom storage solutions throughout the Pittsburgh region. As our company continues to grow, we’re looking for a Field Coordinator to help bridge the gap between design, production, and installation.

This is a hands-on, field-based position for someone who understands construction, has a strong eye for detail, and enjoys solving problems.

Your primary responsibility will be simple: help us identify potential problems before they become installation problems.

You’ll visit customers’ homes after projects are sold to verify critical measurements and site conditions before materials are ordered. You’ll also support our installation teams in the field by delivering materials, verifying service issues, and helping solve logistical problems when they arise.

This is not a sales position and not a traditional installation position. It’s a combination of field verification, quality control, problem-solving, and installation support.

What You’ll Do

Pre-Installation Site Verification

Visit customers’ homes after the design and sale of a project to verify important measurements and site conditions before the project is released for ordering.

Responsibilities include:

  • Verify critical dimensions against project plans and measurements
  • Confirm ceiling heights, wall dimensions, and other important site measurements
  • Identify walls, floors, and ceilings that may be significantly out of level, square, or plumb
  • Verify locations of electrical outlets, switches, HVAC vents, plumbing, access panels, windows, doors, trim, and other potential obstructions
  • Confirm door swings and necessary clearances
  • Identify unusual installation or material-access conditions
  • Take clear photographs and document field conditions
  • Compare actual site conditions with the proposed design
  • Communicate discrepancies to the design and operations teams before materials are ordered
  • Flag potential installation concerns before they reach the jobsite
You will not be responsible for redesigning projects in the field. Your responsibility is to identify and accurately document potential issues so the appropriate team member can resolve them before ordering.

Installation & Field Support

Help keep our installation crews productive and moving throughout the day.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver missing or replacement materials to active jobsites
  • Pick up materials, hardware, tools, and supplies from our warehouse or vendors when needed
  • Assist with field measurements when additional information is needed
  • Help resolve minor logistical issues that would otherwise pull an installer away from a project
  • Provide additional field support to the Operations and Installation teams as needed
Service & Warranty Verification

Help us properly diagnose service issues before scheduling return visits or ordering replacement materials.

Responsibilities include:

  • Visit completed projects when additional field verification is necessary
  • Photograph and document customer concerns
  • Take accurate measurements for replacement components
  • Determine what materials and information will be needed for a successful return visit
  • Communicate findings clearly to the Operations team
  • Help ensure installers arrive at service appointments with the correct materials and a clear scope of work
What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in finish carpentry, cabinetry, closet installation, remodeling, construction, millwork, or a similar field.

You don’t need to be an engineer, but you do need to understand how things are built and installed.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is highly accurate with a tape measure and laser
  • Understands basic residential construction
  • Can read plans, elevations, and measurements
  • Notices details that other people may overlook
  • Has strong spatial awareness
  • Is comfortable identifying potential installation problems
  • Is organized and documents information clearly
  • Can communicate professionally with homeowners
  • Is comfortable working independently throughout the Pittsburgh area
  • Is dependable and responsive
  • Takes ownership of problems rather than simply passing them along
  • Is comfortable using a smartphone, photos, email, and project-management software
  • Has a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Experience installing closets, cabinets, kitchens, millwork, or finish carpentry is strongly preferred.
