FIELD ESTIMATOR & OPERATIONS MANAGER

Alpen Tree Experts has served Truckee and the Lake Tahoe region for over 20 years. We're looking for an experienced tree care estimator to run estimates, coordinate between clients and crews, and help keep our operation moving.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• On-site estimating and sales using Jobber (~50%)
• Be the main point of contact between clients, the office, and field crews (~20%)
• Occasional high-end ornamental pruning from the ground, no climbing (~15%)
• Dispatch, route planning, fuel runs, equipment transport, and minor field fixes (~15%)

REQUIRED

• Solid tree care background and accurate production-hour estimating
• Experience bidding crane-assisted removals
• Know when permits, utility coordination (Truckee Donner PUD, Liberty Utilities), and traffic control are needed, and how to arrange them
• Ornamental ground pruning skills
• Strong communication and sound pricing judgment
• Comfortable with mobile apps/CRMs
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, reliable personal vehicle
• Able to walk steep, snowy terrain in all weather and lift 50 lbs

PREFERRED

• ISA Certified Arborist (or able to certify within 6 months)
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Mechanical aptitude
• Jobber experience

PAY

• $6,000 to $7,000/month salary, April through November (DOE)
• $30 to $38/hour off-season (varies with storm and snow work, plus fleet maintenance, estimating, and pre-season sales)
• Year-round salary available after the first season for candidates who build a full off-season workload
• 2% commission on closed jobs when crew efficiency (hours invoiced vs. hours paid) stays above 80%
• Total expected: $65,000 to $90,000+ per year
