Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and safety-focused Field Mechanic to join our farming team. The ideal candidate will support the farming operations for multiple locations. Provide maintenance and repairs of tractors, harvesters, and various field equipment. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair all equipment used in the farming operation.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in shop or field settings as needed.
- Have tools necessary to perform repairs of equipment.
- Work with Supervisors and field staff.
- Be able to complete assign tasks in correct and timely manner without direct supervision
- Complete work orders on a regular basis and maintains necessary documentation.
- Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge to complete repairs.
- Ability to fill out Maintenance Repair forms in English.
- Apply safety procedures and principles on a daily basis and protect yourself and others from injury.
- Experience with agricultural equipment.
- Knowledge of diesel motors.
- Light fabrications and welding.
- Small engine repair.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to read and understand company policies and procedures and implement appropriately.
- Assist in problem solving and in making this a more effective organization.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to read and write the English language.
- Manager details of multiple projects in an efficient and organized method.
- Produce work in a timely, budgeted, scheduled and profitable manner for the company.
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Clean driving record
- Have tools necessary to perform repairs of equipment.
- Be ready and able to commit to harvest with extended hours.
- Ability to work varying hours, some weekends, and varying schedules.
Some aspects of this position would require working outdoors in all kinds of weather. This position requires standing, sitting, walking, push, pull and reaching. Must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects, up to 50 pounds, as necessary to perform job
