Field Service Mechanic

The Field Service Mechanic independently diagnoses, repairs, and services vehicles and equipment in
the field, in the shop, or at customer locations. This position removes, installs, and repairs components;
performs failure analysis; and troubleshoots vehicle, heavy-equipment, and generator-engine systems,
including electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, and electronic/computer applications. This role
requires a strong work ethic, excellent customer service, and an ability to solve problems in a variety of
service situations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Independently diagnose, repair, and service vehicles and equipment in the field, shop, and at
customer locations.
• Remove, install, repair, and evaluate mechanical and related components, including performing
failure analysis as needed.

• Troubleshoot and repair vehicles, heavy-equipment, and generator-engine systems.
• Diagnose and service electrical systems, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and

electronic/computer applications.
• Use sound problem-solving skills to identify equipment issues and determine appropriate repair
solutions.
• Provide professional, customer-focused service and communicate effectively with customers
throughout service work.

• Safely operate and care for a company-provided service vehicle and assigned tools/equipment.
• Travel frequently throughout the assigned service territory; overnight stays may be required.
• Follow company safety practices, procedures, and service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills: Working knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to diagnose and repair
electrical, hydraulic, transmission, and electronic/computer-controlled systems.
Core Competencies: Strong work ethic, customer-service orientation, independent judgment, problem
solving, reliability, and professional communication. Can work independently without supervision.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications:

• Field service experience repairing vehicles, heavy equipment, or generator engines.
• Experience performing component removal, installation, repair, and failure analysis.
• Strong diagnostic skills across electrical, hydraulic, transmission, and electronic/computer systems.
• Ability to work independently in varied fields and customer environments.
• Commitment to ongoing company training and certification requirements.
