Experienced Field Technician

Description

Experienced Field Technician — Doors, Hardware & Access Control

Are you a skilled tradesman with real experience in carpentry, low voltage, locksmithing, glazing, and/or doors — someone who takes pride in doing precise, high-quality work without needing to be told twice?

We're a small but mighty team supplying and installing doors, hardware, access control, and low-voltage solutions for a loyal and growing client base. We specialize in custom hollow metal and storefront doors and frames, hardware retrofits, access control, and ADA compliance.

We're looking for an experienced technician who's ready to own the field — someone our Field Manager can hand a task to and trust it gets done right, without hovering. This isn't a training-ground role. We need someone who already knows the trade and is looking for a team worth doing their best work for.

Compensation & Time Off: $32–$45/hour, depending on experience. Two weeks paid time off, accruing after a 90-day probationary period.

You must have:
--Genuinely humble, positive attitude — no drama, no ego, just good work and good communication
--A track record of high-quality craftsmanship — you notice when something's off and fix it before anyone has to ask
--Minimum 5 years of hands-on trade experience (carpentry, glazing, locksmithing, low voltage, or doors/hardware) with real proficiency in power and hand tools
--The ability to work independently — you can take a task, run with it, and communicate proactively instead of waiting for instructions
--A clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check
--Strong technical aptitude — reading plans, troubleshooting field conditions, and adjusting until it's actually right

This position involves:
--Lots of communication — clear, professional, verbal and written, both with clients and our office
--Lots of driving — most projects are in the Bay Area, Sacramento, and Central Valley
--Real physical demands — regular lifting up to 100 lbs, sustained hands-on installation work, and the stamina to do this job well day after day
--Ownership — keeping your truck and materials organized, anticipating what the job and client need, and eventually training the person working alongside you

What sets the right person apart:

Energy. Focus. Follow-through. You show up driven and stay driven. You're proud of your work and it shows in the details. And most importantly — you actually want to be part of what we're building here, not just collecting a paycheck between jobs.

Serious inquiries only.

Please respond to this post by email with "Field Technician" in the subject line, and tell us a little about a job you were genuinely proud of — and why you're drawn to this position.
