Final Assembly Job Description:
Final assembly is the stage in manufacturing where components are put together to form a complete product, often involving precision work, quality checks, and coordination with other team members.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly & Calibration: Build and calibrate final units according to engineering specifications and quality standards.
Quality Control: Inspect finished products for defects, ensure compliance with customer requirements, and report issues to supervisors.
Tool & Equipment Use: Operate hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and specialized equipment.
Blueprint & Document Reading: Interpret blueprints, diagrams, Bill of Materials, Bill of Operations, and work instructions.
Process Coordination: Work with supervisors, managers, and coworkers to ensure processes meet manufacturing standards.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills: Basic math, reading measurements, understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, manufacturing basics, and mechanical principles.
Tool Proficiency: Ability to use power and hand tools safely and effectively.
Attention to Detail: Strong visual inspection skills to detect defects and deviations.
Communication: Ability to follow instructions, communicate with team members, and report issues.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a woodshop/ warehouse environment.
Education & Experience
Education: High school diploma or GED; Basic understanding of manufacturing and production.
Basic understanding of inventory control a plus.
Forklift Certification a plus.
Experience: 1–3 years in manufacturing, assembly, or related fields; experience with production and quality control is preferred.
