Fire Inspector Trainee
$20/HR
Fire Sprinkler Inspector Trainee
Description
The Opportunity:
We manage life-safety compliance for highly regulated commercial properties in Georgia. We are looking for a hungry, mechanically inclined individual who wants a lifelong, recession-proof career in fire protection engineering.
This is not a dead-end helper job. We are offering an apprenticeship track to earn your national NICET Certification in Fire Protection and become a licensed professional Life Safety Inspector.
What We Provide:
- Starting Pay: $20.00/hour, with automatic salary bumps as you pass your certification tiers.
- Company Vehicle & Tools: You will be issued your own company truck at the beginning of your tenure for your daily commercial dispatch.
- Paid Study Time: You get one fully paid day per week in a remote office environment to study for your NICET exams at your regular hourly rate.
- Accelerated Field Training: You will complete an intensive ride-along with our Senior Inspectors to learn the baseline mechanics and operations before taking ownership of your own daily route.
- Dispatch independently to commercial sites across Georgia.
- Act as the primary physical force for system inspections.
- Learn the mechanics of wet, dry, and pre-action fire sprinkler systems.
- Master the NFPA codebook and log your required field hours to transition from a mechanical apprentice into a certified inspector.
- No prior fire sprinkler experience required, but you MUST be mechanically inclined. (Experience in plumbing, HVAC, auto mechanics, pipefitting, or general construction is a massive plus).
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor independently and safely climb ladders.
- Self-disciplined enough to actually study and pass rigorous exams during your remote office days, and highly reliable to manage a solo daily route.
- Clean driving record and the ability to pass background checks for restricted site access.
Once you hit your required field hours and pass your NICET Level II exam, you graduate. You will be promoted to Lead Inspector and transitioned to our uncapped commission structure where you earn a percentage of every deficiency you repair on your route.
