The Fire Suppression Technician installs, inspects, maintains, tests, and repairs fire suppression systems and related to provide the safe condition and operations of all fire protection systems according to the required specifications of the task or project.

Job Description
Position involves the installation, inspection, testing, and industrial environments including wet and dry sprinkler, fire pumps, underground fire lines, and whatever duties are assigned.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install and repair fire suppression systems, sprinkler piping, valves, fire pumps, standpipes, and suppression equipment following fire specifications, schematics, and blueprints.
- Install and service wet pipe, dry pipe, pre-action, deluge, kitchen hoods, and clean agent fire suppression system.
- Install and connect piping, hangers, valves, fittings, suppression tanks, detection devices, and related apparatus in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.
- Diagnose and resolve problems in fire suppression systems and equipment using testing instruments and diagnostic tools.
- Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire suppression systems to ensure compatibility, functionality, and safety components.
- Measure, cut, thread, assemble, and install fire suppression piping and equipment using rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threaders, and power tools.
- Receive and complete all work orders.
- Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.
- Maintain inventory of company-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
- Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean before leaving the area.
- Work with building principals and supervisors.
- MINIMUM OF 1-2 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRE SUPPRESSION OR FIRE PROTECTION FIELD.
- MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK NIGHTS IF NEEDED.
- EXCELLENT ORAL/WRITTEN COMMUNICATION AND PRESENTATION SKILLS, PROFFESSIONAL PRESENCE.
- VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE.
- SOME KNOWLEDGE OF FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM, FIRE PROTECTION EQUIPMENT, AND OPERTING PRINCIPLES.
- SOME KNOWLEDGE OF NFPA STANDARDS AND LOCAL FIRE CODES.
- DIAGNOSE AND RESOLVE PROBLEMS.
- MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A BACKGROUND AND DRUG TEST.
