Fleet & Warehouse Supervisor

Description

About Us

Geared for Growing is a full-service landscape design, build, and maintenance company serving Sonoma County since 1983. Our crews are out in the field every day, and they depend on one person to keep them rolling: the one who keeps the trucks running, the tools moving, and the warehouse stocked.

The Role

Our longtime fleet and warehouse supervisor is retiring after decades with us, and we're looking for someone hungry to take real ownership of this side of the business. This isn't a job where someone hands you a task list every morning. You'll see what the crews need before they ask, catch the truck problem before it becomes a breakdown, and run the warehouse like it's yours.

You'll be the backbone behind our field crews - part mechanic, part equipment operator, part supply runner, all problem-solver.

What You'll Do
-Keep the fleet running
-Perform routine maintenance on our trucks and tractors: oil changes, filters, fluids, belts, brakes, and minor mechanical repairs
-Diagnose problems early and fix what you can in-house before it turns into a shop bill
-Coordinate with outside mechanics for the bigger jobs (major repairs) and get vehicles there and back

Keep the crews supplied
-Deliver tools, materials, and products to active job sites around Sonoma County
-Run to suppliers and stores to purchase and pick up what crews need
-Track warehouse inventory and proactively reorder products before they run out
-Keep the warehouse and trucks supplied with all the necessary materials and chemicals

Run the warehouse and yard
-Own the tool and equipment check-in/check-out process
-Keep the warehouse organized, stocked, and tidy
Operate our excavator and skid steer to move soil and materials around the yard
-Take responsibility for the condition of all equipment on site

What We're Looking For
-Hands-on mechanical ability - you're comfortable getting under a truck and doing your own oil changes, brakes, and basic repairs
-Experience maintaining small engines, trucks, or landscape/agricultural equipment
-Ability to operate (or quickly learn) a skid steer and mini excavator
-Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
-Self-starter who takes ownership - you see what needs doing and do it
-Organized and reliable - crews are counting on you every morning at 6:30
-Able to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet, under vehicles, and outdoors
-Comfortable with technology and basic computer skills

Nice to have (not required):
-Experience in landscaping, construction, agriculture, or a similar trade
-Welding or fabrication skills
-Bilingual English/Spanish

Why This Job
-Consistent early schedule - done by noon every day, your afternoons are yours
-Real ownership and independence - no one micromanaging your day
-A stable, family-owned company that's been here since 1983
-Variety - you're never doing the same thing two days in a row
