Foreman / Superintendent

Description

Construction Foreman / Superintendent — Custom Homes & Remodels — $40-55/hr (San Jose)

About us:

We're a custom home builder in San Jose looking for a superintendent who can run our jobs in the field so the owner doesn't have to be in three places at once. Looking to make an addition to our outfit.

Duties:

Running the day-to-day on active jobsites — you own the schedule, the site, and the outcome.
Coordinating subs: framing, MEP, drywall, tile, cabinets, finish carpentry. Getting them there on the right day with the right info
Walking the work before it gets covered up. Catching the problem at rough-in, not at final
Scheduling and passing inspections with the City and county jurisdictions
Reading plans and specs, and flagging conflicts before they cost us money
Managing material deliveries, lead times, and site logistics on occasional tight residential lots
Keeping the site clean, safe, and secure
Daily communication with the owner — photos, progress, problems, what you need
Being the face of the company to homeowners who are watching their house get built

Requirements:
5-10 years running residential construction — superintendent, lead carpenter, or foreman on custom homes or substantial remodels
Ability to read and understand a full set of plans. (All Trades)
Working knowledge of CA building code, Title 24, and the residential inspection process
Reliable truck and your own hand tools. (Company truck may be provided after 90 probation period.)
Valid CA driver's license and clean record
Smartphone and comfort with photos, texts, and scheduling/communication apps
Someone who shows up when they say they will and does what they say they'll do

Prefferred:

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Existing relationships with Bay Area subs and suppliers

Pay:
$40–55/hr DOE, W-2, Salary paid bimonthly
Full-time, year-round work
Overtime paid at time and a half
PTO
