Wildlife Field Technician — We Train

$27-$28/hour + overtime | Typical annual earnings around $65,000-$75,000 | Full-Time, Permanent

ABC Wildlife is hiring Wildlife Field Technicians. No wildlife or trapping experience is required. We provide extensive paid training for people who are smart, dependable, physically capable and interested in building a long-term career.

We've been protecting homes and managing human-wildlife conflicts since 1976, and our work has been featured on National Geographic and the Discovery Channel.

What You'll Do

Every day is different. You'll:

  • Inspect homes for wildlife activity, including squirrels and raccoons
  • Set humane traps and pick up animals
  • Install chimney caps, vent covers and other exclusion barriers
  • Climb ladders and work around roofs and heights
  • Drive a company truck to calls dispatched by our office
  • Explain findings and the wildlife-control process to clients
  • Keep accurate notes and follow established safety procedures
You'll spend much of your day outdoors, working independently while remaining part of an experienced field team.

Pay and Schedule

  • $27-$28 per hour
  • Overtime paid at time-and-a-half
  • Typical annual earnings around $65,000-$75,000 with overtime
  • Guaranteed average of 40 hours per week
  • 50+ hours are typical during the busy summer season
  • Technicians generally work 4-5 days per week
  • Some weekends are required as part of a rotating schedule
  • Typical day begins around 7:30 a.m. and ends around 5 p.m., with later days possible during summer

No previous wildlife-control experience is required. We train you.

Location

You will report daily to our Schaumburg, Illinois, office.
