EXPERIENCED METAL STUD FRAMER

Established construction company is looking for an experienced Metal Stud Framer to join our crew.

We are looking for someone who can read plans, lay out walls correctly, frame independently, and work efficiently as part of a commercial construction crew.

Job Duties Include:

  • Read and understand blueprints, drawings, specifications, and layout plans
  • Lay out walls, ceilings, door openings, soffits, and other framing using tape measures, squares, lasers, and chalk lines
  • Measure, mark, cut, and install metal studs and track
  • Frame interior walls, partitions, ceilings, doorways, windows, vents, and openings
  • Verify framing is plumb, level, square, and properly aligned
  • Cut and assemble metal framing according to plans and field conditions
  • Install wood backing or wood framing when required
  • Install drywall on walls and ceilings over wood or metal framing
  • Measure and cut drywall for doors, windows, electrical outlets, plumbing, vents, and other penetrations
  • Use drywall lifts, scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment safely
  • Install insulation and moisture barriers when required
  • Install metal lath, furring channels, backing, trim, and related components
  • Perform acoustical ceiling/grid work when required
  • Coordinate work with drywall finishers and other trades
  • Remove existing drywall, framing, plaster, or other materials during remodel work
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Follow plans, specifications, OSHA requirements, and company safety procedures
Qualifications:

  • Prior commercial metal stud framing experience required
  • Drywall hanging experience strongly preferred
  • Must know how to properly lay out and frame from plans
  • Must be comfortable using lasers, levels, tape measures, screw guns, saws, snips, and standard construction tools
  • Must understand metal stud sizes, gauges, track, headers, backing, and common framing assemblies
  • Must be able to work independently without constant supervision
  • Must be dependable and show up ready to work
  • Must be able to lift and handle construction materials throughout the workday
  • Must work well with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades
  • Reliable transportation required

Backing and specialty framing

Hours: 6am - 3pm

Work in Northern California

This is NOT an entry-level framing position. We are looking for someone who already understands commercial metal stud framing and can contribute immediately.
