Full Time Dog Groomer — Quality-First Studio

Description

# Part-Time Dog Groomer — Quality-First Studio (West Los Angeles)

**Established local studio | Full Time | W-2 employee | $[25–35]/hr + tips — CONFIRM**

## Read this first

This is slow, careful work on dogs that don't always cooperate.

We are a low-volume shop on purpose. No corporate rush, no eight-dogs-before-lunch quotas — which means every groom gets your full attention, and there's nowhere for sloppy work to hide. If "fewer dogs, higher standard" sounds boring, this isn't your job. If it sounds like the shop you've been looking for — keep reading, because we built this role for you.

## The role

A small, established grooming studio needs an experienced groomer who treats the craft like a craft. You'll handle full grooms start to finish — all breeds, clipper and scissor work — at a pace built around quality, not volume. The owners work in the building, the team is small and supportive, and your work gets noticed.

The work is physical and repetitive. It is relentless in its need for patience and precision. Done well, this role makes you one of the most trusted people in a growing company.

## Who you are

  • **You're gentle before you're fast.** A nervous dog changes your pace, not your temper. Handling is where your skill shows first.
  • **Your scissor work holds up in daylight.** You finish a groom because it's done, not because time ran out.
  • **You're consistent.** Your tenth dog of the week gets the same care as your first. Nobody has to check behind you.
  • **You're honest about problems.** A nick, a skin issue you spotted, a dog that struggled — you say so immediately, every time. We'd rather hear it from you than find it later. This one is non-negotiable.
  • **You actually read things.** All the way through. (Prove it: when you apply, include the word **driftwood** somewhere in your note. No explanation needed — we'll know what it means.)
  • **You're a team person in a small shop.** You pitch in on the unglamorous stuff between grooms without being asked.
  • **You show up.** On time, prepared, consistent. A small team feels every absence.
