Full time groundskeeper/handyman

Position overview

Westlake Hills family is searching for a groundskeeper/handyman to round out their property team. The property encompasses several acres, and the house is approximately 12,000 sq feet. This role is perfect for someone who is proactive, takes pride in maintaining grounds, and is a discreet professional.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9-5 with some flexibility to assist with after hours events (2-3/year)
Compensation: $85-90k, DOE
Benefits: Medical, vision, dental employer pays 75% employee
PTO: 14 days annually
Bonus: discretionary annual bonus

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Does not included landscape maintenance
• Hands on maintenance of exterior property, including maintaining clean porches and eaves, gathering trash, routine checks of equipment, cleaning outdoor areas, watering pots, supporting events (2-3 per year)
• Maintain and fuel vehicles, knowledge of basic boat maintenance and stocking of supplies
• Work closely with house manager to maintain project list, update operation of equipment and maintenance, basic troubleshooting of HVAC, plumbing, other systems
• Maintain and clean garages, outbuildings, utility vehicles
• Put up and take down exterior holiday decorations
• Winterize home in severe weather
• Gather mail and packages daily, collect and dispose of trash and recycling
• Gather eggs and maintain hen house
• Maintain/organize onsite inventory of family’s stored items

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive
• Proven experience as handyman, carpenter, groundskeeper in private home
• Enjoys operational freedom and can self manage, as well as collaborate with established team
• Clear and consistent communication
• Takes pride in their work and is a thoughtful decisionmaker
• Able to reduce need for outside vendors by taking ownership of small repairs
• Legal status to work in the US
• Able to pass background check and clean driving record
• Possess verifiable references for relevant work
