Gardener's Assistant
Gardener
Description
Greetings, We are a small company, looking for an assistant gardener 2-3 days week
9:00am to 6:00pm (end time is approximate)
We are family, LGBT and poc owned. We have been in operation since 2020, with a few clients older than the company.
We specialize in habitat gardens, with emphasis on native plants, water features and wildlife shelters. Our gardens range in style from CA Natives, to Japanese, from Orchards to Xeriscapes, and from bird habitats to staging for real estate sales.
We also take care of ponds, water features, rabbit hutches, chicken coops, aviaries and critter habitats. Working with what is available to make our clients dream gardens come true by creating the design, doing the installation and guiding or providing the proper maintenance.
ABOUT YOU:
We are looking for hard-working positive and engaged individuals. You will be in the field with another gardener maintaining gardens in San Francisco and/ or the Peninsula. We are looking for a horticulturalist who has passion or experience in gardening and horticulture. However we are happy to train if not. With us you will learn things such as Plant ID, disease and nutrition issues, aesthetic pruning skills, and lawn and drip irrigation skills. Further training will be provided even if you are proficient in such skills. Ideally, you are looking for a place to work for a long time, but that's not a requirement.
The ideal candidate loves plants and animals, has a drivers license with a clean record, and ideally is able to drive manual transmission.
