POSITION SUMMARY
The General Manager leads the Client branch and owns its operational performance, profitability, and growth. The role directs daily operations across mitigation, restoration, reconstruction, and contents; drives sales results and customer satisfaction; develops the branch leadership bench; and delivers the financial plan. The General Manager is accountable for upholding the Client's service standards while translating company strategy into results at the branch level.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
- Direct all branch operations - mitigation, restoration, reconstruction, contents, and support functions.
- Deliver every project safely, on schedule, and on budget.
- Enforce compliance with Client standards, OSHA requirements, industry regulations, and company policy.
- Build operational systems that raise productivity, workmanship quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Track branch performance against defined KPIs and act on what the numbers show.
- Own the branch P&L and deliver budgeted revenue, margin, and net profit.
- Build annual budgets, forecasts, and operating plans.
- Review monthly financials and correct variances before they compound.
- Control labor, equipment, and overhead costs through disciplined resource allocation.
- Ensure job costing, invoicing, collections, and reporting are accurate and timely.
- Recruit, coach, and develop managers and frontline team members.
- Set clear performance expectations and hold the team accountable to them.
- Conduct performance reviews and build individual development plans.
- Cultivate a culture grounded in teamwork, safety, and customer service.
- Maintain an active succession plan for every key role in the branch.
- Partner with sales and marketing to hit revenue and growth targets.
- Strengthen relationships with customers, insurance professionals, property managers, and community partners.
- Identify market opportunities and pursue them with a defined plan to grow share.
- Support key account management and business development activity in the territory.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns quickly and directly.
- Monitor satisfaction scores, online reviews, and service quality metrics.
- Hold the branch to a standard of responsiveness, professionalism, and follow-through.
- Protect and build the branch's reputation as the premier restoration provider in its market.
- Work with the COO and executive team to advance company objectives.
- Translate company goals into branch action plans with clear owners, deadlines, and measures.
- Lead process improvement and change initiatives through to full adoption.
- Report operational and financial performance to executive leadership.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, construction management, or a related field preferred.
- Five to seven years of progressive leadership experience in restoration, construction, facilities services, home services, or a comparable industry.
- Proven record of P&L ownership and measurable operational results.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and developing managers.
- Working knowledge of property restoration, mitigation, reconstruction, insurance claims, and disaster recovery preferred.
- Leadership presence and a track record of building durable teams.
- Financial acumen - reads a P&L and knows which levers to pull.
- Clear communicator and capable negotiator with customers, carriers, and staff.
- Decisive problem solver under time pressure.
- Comfort with operational and financial data, and the judgment to act on it.
- Proficiency with CRM, ERP, estimating software, and Microsoft Office.
