General Services Mechanic –Light, Medium & Heavy Duty Tow Trucks

🕒 Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Hours may vary based on business needs)

About Us:

Quantum Towing & Recovery is looking for an experienced General Services Mechanic to join our growing team. If you enjoy working on heavy-duty trucks, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and specialized recovery equipment, we'd love to hear from you.

Our fleet includes light-, medium-, and heavy-duty wreckers, and recovery units that keep our community moving 24/7.

What You'll Do:
🔹 Diagnose and repair tow trucks and recovery equipment
🔹 Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections
🔹 Repair diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, suspension, and air brake systems
🔹 Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulic systems, PTOs, winches, and recovery components
🔹 Perform welding and fabrication repairs when needed
🔹 Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure quality workmanship
🔹 Keep accurate repair records and maintain a clean, organized work area
🔹 Assist with emergency field repairs when necessary

Qualifications:
✔ High School Diploma or GED
✔ 3+ years of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience preferred
✔ Experience with hydraulic systems and towing equipment is a plus
✔ Welding and fabrication experience strongly preferred
✔ Experience using diagnostic software and scan tools
✔ CDL is a plus (or willingness to obtain)
✔ Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Fleet Uptime (Heavy-Duty Units): ≥ 95% availability of rotators and large wreckers
Critical Repair Turnaround Time: 24–48 hours for high-priority units
Preventative Maintenance Compliance: 100% on schedule
Breakdown Reduction: Measurable decrease in road failures and emergency repairs
Safety Compliance Rate: 100% DOT and internal inspection compliance
Equipment Readiness: All recovery systems fully operational for dispatch at all times

In addition, all additional job duties and assignments assigned by your Team Lead, Supervisor, Manager, Administrator or Director.
