The General Warehouse Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment, systems, and infrastructure within a warehouse. Their duties include conducting regular inspections, performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing repair needs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. They may also oversee specific areas of the warehouse, collaborate with team members, and contribute to training efforts for new staff. This role is essential for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, ultimately allowing the company to meet its operational objectives to employees within the facility.

Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities

Facility Upkeep: Maintain the warehouse infrastructure, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and lighting. Regular inspections help identify potential hazards or wear and tear before disrupt operations. Inspection and compliance – Check all lights, commodes, urinals, operation of doors, closers behind doors for holes, check and replace ceiling tiles, exit lights, sinks and noting other issues within the facility for repairs. Includes Replacing lights, bulbs and ballast, plumbing, electrical, moving, replacing ceiling tiles, wall patching and painting, construction as needed.

Troubleshooting and Repairs: When unexpected issues arise, technicians diagnose mechanical or electrical problems, implement repairs, and coordinate with external service providers for specialized maintenance.

Collaboration and Communication: Technicians work closely with warehouse managers, operations staff, and external suppliers to schedule maintenance, streamline workflows, and minimize downtime. Effective communication is essential for reporting issues and coordinating repairs.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential skills include mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems, and proficiency with hand and power tools. Strong communication and teamwork abilities are also important for coordinating with staff and ensuring smooth operations.
