Entry-Level Generator Technician / Technician Helper

Location: Andover, NJ

Looking to learn a skilled trade with long-term career potential?

Weld Power Generator is looking for a motivated, dependable individual to join our service team as an Entry-Level Generator Technician. No generator experience is required. We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn.

This position is designed to provide hands-on experience working alongside our experienced generator technicians. You'll assist on larger jobs, gain exposure to diesel engines, electrical systems, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while developing the skills needed to become a Generator Technician.

What You'll Do

Assist experienced technicians with generator maintenance and repairs
Help perform oil changes, filter replacements, and preventative maintenance
Assist with load bank testing and equipment setup
Serve as a second set of hands on larger repair projects
Load, unload, and organize tools, parts, and equipment
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Learn proper diagnostic and repair procedures through on-the-job training
Travel to customer sites throughout the region with experienced technicians

What We're Looking For

Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Strong work ethic and reliability
Mechanical aptitude or interest in mechanical work
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to work safely and follow instructions
Previous experience in construction, automotive, diesel, electrical, maintenance, HVAC, military, or another skilled trade is a plus—but not required.
