Job Title: GPR Concrete Scanning Technician / Private Utility Locator

An established concrete scanning and private utility locating company is seeking an experienced GPR Concrete Scanning Technician / Private Utility Locator for our Tampa Bay / St. Pete / Central Florida operation.

We are looking for a dependable, safety-oriented technician with experience performing GPR concrete scanning prior to core drilling, concrete cutting and other penetrations on commercial construction projects. Experience with private underground utility locating and electromagnetic (EM) locating equipment is also highly desirable.

Candidates experienced in both concrete GPR scanning and private utility locating will receive strong consideration.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform GPR concrete scanning on slabs, walls and other concrete structures prior to core drilling, saw cutting and other concrete penetrations
• Identify and mark reinforcing steel, post-tension cables, electrical conduits and other embedded objects
• Clearly communicate safe drilling/cutting areas, findings and limitations to contractors and field personnel
• Perform private underground utility locating using GPR and electromagnetic locating equipment
• Locate and mark electrical, communications, gas, water, sewer and other underground utilities
• Interpret GPR data and accurately communicate findings to contractors and customers
• Read construction drawings, site plans and utility plans
• Document field findings and complete required project reports
• Communicate directly with general contractors, electrical contractors, plumbing contractors and other construction professionals
• Maintain company equipment and service vehicle

Experience We're Looking For

• GPR concrete scanning for core drilling, saw cutting and concrete penetrations
• Experience locating rebar, post-tension cables, electrical conduits and other embedded objects
• Private utility locating experience
• Experience using GPR and electromagnetic/RD locating equipment
• Commercial construction experience
• Understanding of concrete construction and embedded objects
• Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions
• Concrete cutting or core drilling experience is a plus, but not required

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• GPR, utility locating or related field experience
• Ability to pass applicable pre-employment screening
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 is a plus
