Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Lead Expert Handyman to spearhead our installation, repair, and maintenance projects. In this role, you will execute complex, multi-trade tasks while supervising junior technicians and managing project timelines. You will be the face of our company, reporting directly to the owner, responsible for diagnosing issues, providing accurate time and material estimates, and ensuring all work meets rigorous quality and safety standards.
Essential Job Functions
Acts as the primary technical specialist and project leader property installation, repairs, and maintenance by merging master-level trade skills.
Leadership & Project Operations
Team Supervision: Provide technical training, assign tasks to junior handymen, and inspect completed work.
Job Estimation: Evaluate scopes of work, calculate material requirements, and generate accurate cost and time estimates.
Safety Enforcement: Ensure all team members adhere to company safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.
Technical Execution & Trade Mastery
Master-level trade skills in the industry for home improvement installations, repairs, and maintenance.
Carpentry: Frame walls, install custom cabinetry, hang doors, repair trim, install insulation, and patch or replace drywall to perfection.
Plumbing Maintenance: Replace fixtures.
Electrical Maintenance: Replace switches, outlets, and fixtures.
Exterior & Flooring: Execute high-quality interior/exterior repairs and replacements.
Client Relations
Communication: Manage scope expectations and answer technical questions clearly.
Conflict Resolution: Addresses client feedback professionally on-site to maintain a positive relationship and high customer satisfaction rating.
Retention: Ensure repeat services by engaging clients in a maintenance program.
Education and Experience
Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of professional handyman or construction experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Extensive mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in systems repair and troubleshooting. Excellent leadership capabilities with a focus on team management, supervising experience, and fostering a safety-first environment. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Fluency in English with clear communication skills for coordinating with team members and stakeholders effectively.
Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical school certificate or trade apprenticeship preferred.
Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, climb tall ladders, and work in tight or overhead spaces for extended periods.
Tech Literacy: Proficiency using mobile scheduling, digital invoicing tools, and project management software.
Compensation and Benefits
$30 per hour + overtime pay
