Visual Endeavors is a boutique creative technology studio building immersive experiences for live events and concerts. We design and build the custom gear that powers our shows — including our flagship PixelCannon media servers, assembled in-house at our Santa Cruz studio.
We're looking for a hands-on Hardware Build & Studio Ops Technician to join the team. You should be comfortable around computers, hardware and networking gear and take pride in building things.
You'll be building the hardware that powers shows for A-list touring acts, maintaining network infrastructure, keeping our warehouse running smoothly and making sure everything is organized, labeled and ready to deploy. This is a part-time role with room to grow as the studio scales.
What You'll Do
PixelCannon Assembly + Custom Hardware Builds
Assemble PixelCannon media server units from components - installing motherboards, GPUs, drives, RAM and cooling systems
Perform QC and assist with network configuration
Help with soldering, cable making, 3D printing, laser cutting or CNC tasks
Keep the studio organized, clean and optimized for creative production
Maintain inventory and prepare shipments
You Might Be a Good Fit If You…
Have built a PC or worked in IT/networking — or — come from a fab lab, makerspace, or hands-on build environment
Understand networking basics - IP addressing, subnets, managed switches, patch panels or structured cabling
Are detail-oriented and take pride in clean, organized, well-labeled work
Are comfortable using hand tools, power tools and shop equipment
Are local to Santa Cruz or the surrounding area
Can lift 50+ lbs and are comfortable on your feet in a shop environment
Are reliable, self-directed and communicate well
