Heat & Frost Mechanical Insulator

How it works:
Insulators Apprenticeship program has 8,000 hours (at least 4 years) of on-the-job training, plus 160 hours each year of related classroom training with weekly homework assignments. This program has classroom instruction on weekdays, Monday to Friday, four weeks per year. Once completing the apprenticeship, you will be a journeyman and will be getting full journeyman wages.

Job Description:

We are seeking new members to join our Union. As a Mechanical Insulator, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing insulation on various mechanical systems to ensure energy efficiency, safety, and system performance. Traveling to different job sites around Alaska.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Moving Insulation, applying insulation materials as directed by a Journeyman, to pipes, ducts, tanks, boilers, and other mechanical systems according to specifications and safety standards.

Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other tradespeople to complete installations efficiently.

Experience:

Some construction background is a plus.

Physical Fitness:

Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs, lifting and climbing ladders, work at heights, work in extreme cold/hot temperatures and work in confined spaces.
