Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Heavy Equipment Lube / Field Technician to join our service team. In this role, you will operate a heavy-duty service truck and travel directly to job sites to perform critical preventative maintenance on our fleet of heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and haul trucks). Because you will transport and manage bulk oils, fuels, and fluids, a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements is required for this position. Your work is vital to maximizing our equipment uptime, keeping jobs on schedule, and ensuring safety across our operations.

Core Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled oil changes, oil samples, filter replacements, and fluid top-offs (hydraulic, coolant, transmission) in the field.
- Equipment Lubrication: Greasing of all pins, bushings, bearings, and moving components according to manufacturer specifications.
- Field Inspections: Conduct thorough multi-point safety and mechanical walk-around inspections to identify fluid leaks, worn parts, or potential component failures.
- Minor Repairs: Complete basic field repairs such as replacing hydraulic hoses, adjusting track tension, swapping light bulbs/fuses, and replacing ground-engaging tools (bucket teeth).
- Fluid Safety & Compliance: Properly handle, sample, transport, and dispose of hazardous waste, bulk oils, fuels, and filters in strict compliance with DOT, EPA, and OSHA guidelines.
- Assis others in shop and field as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat (H) and Tanker (N) endorsements (or X endorsement) and a clean driving record is required.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, diesel mechanics, or a similar industrial field environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engines, heavy equipment hydraulic systems, and proper lubrication techniques.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, climb onto large machinery, and work comfortably outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Tools: Possession of basic hand tools required for standard field maintenance tasks.
- Communication: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with field operators and dispatchers.
