Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Overview

We are a Fort Lauderdale based civil engineering company known for our strong work ethic, respect driven culture and commitment to excellence. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team.
You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety on our job sites.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic background and experience working with various types of equipment Including:

• Diesel Gensets
• Electric Pumps
• Excavators, Skid Steers, and Forklifts
• Fleet Vehicles

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in fleet equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of machinery.
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Collaborate with field teams to minimize equipment downtime.
• Ensure tools and work areas are clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a construction equipment mechanic.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL A plus).
• Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
