We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal Technician will have a strong background in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of heavy construction equipment, ensuring machinery safety and efficiency.
Job Duties:
- Maintain and repair a variety of heavy equipment including backhoes, dump trucks, front-end loaders, tractor-trailer rigs, sweepers, agricultural tractors with mowers and similar equipment
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a variety of defects, malfunctions and other problems in vehicle systems and components; repairs, rebuilds and/or overhauls brakes, cooling systems, drive train components, electrical components, engines, exhaust systems, hydraulic systems, suspension and steering systems, transmissions, and other assemblies, components and systems as necessary; replace and/or rebuild damaged or worn parts as required
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive services on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Read, understand, interpret and work from a variety of service and repair manuals, manufacturer's bulletins, schematic drawings and related materials
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify and address potential problems before they lead to equipment failure
- Follows all safety policies and procedures
- Have a valid driver’s license- CDL preferred
- 5+ years as a mechanic (heavy equipment)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the day, maneuver in small areas, and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Proficiency with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Minimum basic tools to 3/4 drive
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Computer competency
- Must have own Tools
Day Shift: 6:30am-3pm Some overtime required
