Highly experienced construction lead

EXPERIENCED CONSTRUCTION LEAD — $30–$35 PER HOUR

We are a swimming pool and outdoor-living construction company looking for a genuinely experienced, hands-on construction professional.

THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY-LEVEL, HELPER, OR TRAINING POSITION.

We have had too many applicants claim they can perform construction tasks independently, only to discover once on the job that they require step-by-step instruction.

If you need someone to explain how to perform normal construction tasks, lay out your work, determine the proper method, or supervise you throughout the day, this position is not for you.

We are looking for someone who can be given a task, understand what needs to be done, determine the proper way to accomplish it, and complete it correctly without constant guidance.

EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You should have legitimate hands-on experience in several areas of residential construction, preferably including:

• Carpentry and wood framing
• Concrete forming and preparation
• Masonry
• Swimming pool construction/remodeling
• Outdoor structures and patio covers
• Demolition and reconstruction
• Basic plumbing associated with construction
• Layout, measuring, leveling, and determining elevations
• General jobsite problem-solving
• Reading plans and construction details
• Making field adjustments when necessary

You do NOT need to be a master tradesman in every category. However, you must have enough real construction experience to look at a task, understand what is required, and successfully complete it without being taught how to do it.

There will be helpers available on many projects. You are expected to be the skilled person who knows what to do — not another helper waiting for instructions.

BEFORE YOU APPLY, ASK YOURSELF:

If you were sent to a residential construction project with a helper and given a clear description of what needed to be completed, could you:

• Determine the correct way to build it?
• Lay it out accurately?
• Identify the tools and materials required?
• Complete the work correctly and professionally?
• Recognize and solve normal jobsite problems without calling someone every 30 minutes?

If the answer is not confidently YES, please do not apply.

We would rather leave this position open than hire someone who exaggerates their experience.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Spanish is helpful but not required
• All work is outdoors, including extreme weather conditions

You must be dependable, have reliable transportation, possess basic tools, work well with others, and be professional enough to occasionally interact with homeowners.

COMPENSATION: $30–$35 PER HOUR

Pay depends on actual ability and experience.

We are willing to pay well for someone who is truly capable. If you are a truly unique candidate with an exceptional level of construction knowledge, ability, and independence, we can discuss compensation above this range.

Your pay will be based on what you can actually do — not simply the number of years you say you have worked in construction.
