Diesel Mechanic
Description
We're looking for a journeyman-level tech who can take a vague complaint to root cause with minimal hand-holding — not just someone who can turn wrenches.
Requirements:
- 5+ years heavy-duty tractor-trailer experience (journeyman-level or equivalent)
- Advanced diagnostics: wiring diagrams, schematics, scan tool data, intermittent/hard faults
- Air brake + trailer system knowledge (ABS/EBS, slack adjusters, chambers)
- Solid electrical diagnostics (multimeter, wiring)
- Valid driver's license; able to pass screening as required
- Able to lift 50+ lbs; own tool set sufficient for the scope above (shop provides specialty tools)
- CDL A
- ASE Master or OEM factory training
- DPF/DEF/aftertreatment diagnostic experience
- Welding/fabrication
- Fleet software experience (Shopview, Fleetio, TMT, etc.)
- Experience mentoring or leading other techs
- Diagnose and repair complex drivability/engine and aftertreatment issues — root cause, not parts-cannon
- PM services, air brake repair, electrical troubleshooting, trailer repairs, DOT inspections
- Serve as a go-to for the shop's tougher diagnostic calls
Schedule / Pay / Benefits:
Full-time (Mon–Fri; overtime/weekends as needed)
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
Benefits: PTO/benefits + growth opportunities
