Hiring: Handyman / Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, experienced Handyman to perform a wide range of repair, maintenance, and improvement tasks on residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate is a multi-skilled professional comfortable handling painting, carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrical work, appliance installation, and general building maintenance. You will work independently or as part of a small team to complete jobs efficiently, safely, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Perform interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation, priming, touch-ups, and full room or building painting.
Complete carpentry tasks such as drywall repair/patching, trim and molding installation/repair, door and window adjustments, shelf and cabinet installation, and general woodwork.
Handle basic plumbing repairs and installations (within local code limits), including faucet and fixture replacement, toilet repairs, drain unclogging, and minor pipe work.
Perform basic electrical tasks (within local code limits), such as outlet and switch replacement, light fixture and ceiling fan installation, and simple troubleshooting.
Install and set up household appliances (dishwashers, microwaves, garbage disposals, washers/dryers, etc.).
Conduct general maintenance and repairs on houses and buildings: drywall, flooring touch-ups, caulking, weatherproofing, hardware adjustments, furniture assembly, and preventive upkeep.
Inspect properties, identify needed repairs, and complete punch-list or make-ready work.
Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety protocols.
Communicate clearly with clients or supervisors, provide progress updates, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Transport tools and materials; keep company vehicle (if provided) clean and well-maintained.
Document work completed with photos and notes as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or in related trades (2+ years preferred).
Strong proficiency in painting, carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrical work, appliance installation, and general property maintenance.
Ability to troubleshoot problems and complete jobs independently.
Own a reliable set of basic hand and power tools (company may provide specialty tools or vehicle).
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; reliable transportation.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, and perform physical tasks in various conditions.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and customer-service skills.
Knowledge of basic building codes and safety standards (preferred).
Background check and drug screening may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with property management or multi-unit residential maintenance.
Familiarity with estimating small jobs or using mobile job apps.
Additional skills such as tile work, flooring installation, or light HVAC maintenance.

Physical Requirements

Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting for extended periods.
Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
