Hiring HUD Section 3 Painters

HUD SECTION 3 PRIORITY HIRING

This position is funded in part by HUD (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development) and is subject to Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. In accordance with Section 3 requirements, priority consideration will be given to:

• Section 3 Workers: Individuals residing in the area/project area who meet HUD's low- or very-low-income requirements (income at or below 80% of Area Median Income), OR
• Individuals who are employed by a Section 3 business concern, OR
• Individuals who participate in a YouthBuild program, Job Corps, or similar HUD-recognized program (must be 18 years or older to apply)

Preference will also be given to Targeted Section 3 Workers, including public housing residents and those living within the service area of the HUD-funded project.

JOB DUTIES

• Prepare surfaces (sanding, putty, caulking, sealants, taping) for painting
• Apply paint, stain, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment (interior/exterior)
• Follow lead-safe work practices
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment
• Follow OSHA safety protocols on active construction site
• Work as part of a crew under supervision of Lead Painter/Foreman
• Provide own tools

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior painting experience preferred but not required — on-the-job training available
• Ability to work at heights (ladders, scaffolding)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Own transportation to job site
• Must be able to pass background check as required by project
• OSHA 10 certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
