Hiring: Lighting Fixture Craft Assembler at Allied Maker
Craft Assembler
Description
Allied Maker builds lighting by hand as a practice. Every fixture that leaves our facility has been touched, tested, and finished by a person who understood what they were making and why it mattered.
We're looking for someone who wants to be that person.
You'll assemble handcrafted lighting fixtures — pendants, sconces, chandeliers — from raw components to finished product. This is bench work. It requires patience, dexterity, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in making things correctly.
You'll read technical drawings, work with hand tools and precision instruments, and interpret assembly specifications. You'll handle components that have been finished by our metal finishing team and are expected to protect that work through every stage of assembly. You'll work alongside a small team in a purpose-built shop floor where craft is taken seriously.
As you develop, you'll take on more complex fixtures and contribute to how we refine our processes. There is a direct line between the quality of your work and the quality of what ships.
What We're Looking For:
- Some hands-on experience: woodworking, metalworking, electronics, auto, fabrication, or similar. We care more about your relationship to making things than your resume.
- Fine motor precision and comfort working at a bench for extended periods
- Ability to read and follow technical diagrams and assembly documentation
- High personal standard for finished quality — you notice when something is off
- Reliable, on-time, and self-directed once given clear instruction
