🚊What You'll Do

Construction Safety Flagpersons play a critical role in keeping construction crews and train operations safe while work is performed on or near the tracks.

Responsibilities include:

• Protecting personnel and equipment around active rail operations
• Communicating with train operators using flags, radios, lights, whistles, and other signaling devices
• Monitoring approaching trains and warning work crews
• Operating track switches and signaling when routes are properly aligned
• Following strict safety procedures in a fast-paced environment

🚊Before You Apply

This is a **part-time** position averaging 20 - 40 hours a week supporting a **24/7 transit operation**.

Applicants must be able to:

• Work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and be available for on-call assignments
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Perform physically demanding work and remain alert in a safety-sensitive environment
• Be flexible with scheduling based on operational needs

Hours are **not guaranteed** and vary based on operational needs.

🚊 Minimum Qualifications

• At least **18 years old**
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Successfully pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check
• Successfully complete the SDTI Roadway Worker Certification Course and annual recertification
