Hiring Refrigeration / HVAC Mechanical Technician – Build Refrigerant

We are looking for a hands-on HVAC / Refrigeration / Mechanical Technician to help build and assemble refrigerant evacuation and recovery machines used in appliance recycling operations.

The ideal person should have experience working with refrigeration systems, refrigerant recovery, compressors, vacuum pumps/sensors, copper tubing, valves, fittings, pressure gauges, hoses, recovery cylinders, and mechanical assembly.

Responsibilities:

• Build and assemble refrigerant evacuation/recovery machines
• Work with compressors, vacuum pumps, valves, hoses, gauges, copper lines, and recovery tanks
• Install and connect refrigeration lines, fittings, and mechanical components
• Assist with troubleshooting and improving machine design
• Test systems for pressure, vacuum, flow, and safe operation
• Help with fabrication, brazing, soldering, repairs, and assembly as needed

Requirements:

• Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, appliance repair, or mechanical equipment
• Knowledge of refrigerant/Freon recovery systems
• Ability to work with tools, fittings, copper lines, valves, and pressure systems
• Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Brazing, soldering, welding, or fabrication experience is a plus
• EPA 608 Certification is preferred but not required
• Must be reliable and able to work independently

This is a project-based / part-time opportunity. Pay depends on experience.
