Remodeling
Description
I'm looking for one skilled guy with enough experience that I could feel comfortable leaving alone to accomplish some jobs as needed.
I'm also looking for one guy (or gal) that has some basic skills such has reading a tape and general knowledge of how to use common hand and power tools safely. If you have the willingness to learn and the mental acuity to work a job like this, I can teach you a lot.
It is extremely important for applicants to be able to show up to the jobsite on time and be sober. That includes 420. If you can't make it through an 8 hour work day without a buzz, you've got bigger issues than I'm willing to deal with and you won't last long if I suspect you of being intoxicated. I don't buy the bullshit that weed is medicinal. Go work at a dispensary if you need it that bad.
Furthermore, I need guys that take pride in their work. If you just want a job where you can come in and do the bare minimum to collect a check at the end of the week or just to satisfy the P.O. this is not the job for you. The quality of the work that you can perform at a reasonable speed is paramount. Save phone calls/texts for break time. Stay busy!
I work from Sullivan to St. Charles. Most of the work is in West St. Louis County. But, at the moment, we have a large project in Sullivan. We still jump around a bit to keep other customers happy in other areas while we are on this big one. What I'm getting at, is that you have to be willing to drive sometimes. If you're looking for a job that will always be close to home this isn't the job you're looking for. With that said, reliable transportation is vital.
As for pay, I pay fairly based on your skill level. I've hired guys that swear they could build a house from the ground up and wanted $40/hr. Come to find out my 14 year old was more qualified in every area.
I do it all, within reason. We work most all aspects of large remodel projects. That includes the framing, drywall, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, flooring install, painting, finish trim, and so on. I also take some deck and siding jobs from time to time. You get the point. It's a lot for someone who is only accustomed to working one trade. So don't expect top dollar unless you can do what I do. I can definitely tell the difference between someone who has worked with skilled remodeling crews and a self trained "skilled craftsman".
Most of the houses we work in are pretty nice in nice areas for nice people. I understand we work construction, but you must be able to use good manners. Watch your potty mouth, use your good manners, dress to work like you didn't just crawl out of a tent, and no fucking thieves!
I feel like that is all shit that I shouldn't have to mention, but I've seen some real winners over the years.
I'm pretty straight to the point. I'm not always the most fun person to work for. But if you work hard and show up on time I'll make it worth your time.
This is a 1099 job. I will pay cash if I get paid in cash, but that is not the regular.
Anyone interested in this job please email me your full name, address, job history/schooling related to construction, skills, weaknesses, and what you feel like you deserve to get paid. This is a fulltime job. If you can't work from 8 am to 4 pm don't bother applying.
I provide power tools on the jobsite. You are responsible for your own hand tools.
I'll review emails tomorrow evening and follow up with some phone calls. Make sure you leave your number.
Thanks
