About the work

We insulate mechanical systems in commercial, institutional, and multifamily buildings — hot and chilled water piping, steam, condensate, domestic water, ductwork, and equipment — plus firestopping at rated penetrations. Our jobs run from high-rise new construction in Manhattan to hospital and municipal retrofits across the boroughs and North Jersey.

This is not residential attic work. If you know pipe covering, PVC fitting covers, canvas and mastic, and how to hold a straight seam on a 12" duct, we want to talk.

What You'll Do

Install fiberglass, elastomeric (Armaflex),

Fabricate and apply PVC and aluminum jacketing, fitting covers, and metal lagging.
Insulate ductwork with wrap and rigid board; apply canvas, mastic, and lagging cloth
Insulate equipment: tanks, boilers, pumps, chillers, breechings, and valves
Install firestop systems at rated wall and floor penetrations per UL details
Measure, cut, and fabricate materials in the field
Work off ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and in mechanical rooms, ceilings, and shafts
Keep the work area clean, protect finishes, and coordinate with other trades
Follow all site safety requirements and GC-specific protocols

What We're Looking For

Hands-on experience insulating pipe, duct, or mechanical equipment
Clean, tight finish work — you take pride in how the job looks when the ceiling closes
Comfortable in active construction environments and occupied buildings
Able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated spaces
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently once scoped
Team player who communicates with the foreman and the GC professionally

Experience We Value

Mechanical / commercial insulation

Firestopping (3M, Hilti, STI/SpecSeal systems)
Plumbing or steamfitting
Sprinkler or fire protection
General construction labor with a mechanical background

Requirements

NYC SST card

OSHA 40
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Scaffold, lift, or respirator certifications a plus
