A Squared Mechanical Solutions is seeking a motivated and experienced HVAC Construction Service Technician to join our team. This position bridges the gap between construction and service by handling startup, troubleshooting, warranty work, punch-list items, equipment commissioning, and service-related support on commercial HVAC construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform startup and commissioning of commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, split systems, exhaust fans, make-up air units, VAV systems, and controls.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment on new construction and tenant improvement projects.
• Complete warranty and callback service work.
• Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, airflow, and control system issues.
• Coordinate with project managers, foremen, subcontractors, and building owners to resolve project-related issues.
• Verify installations meet project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
• Assist with system balancing, controls verification, and final project closeout.
• Document service activities and complete required reports.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive customer relationship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with rooftop units, split systems, heat pumps, gas furnaces, controls, and ventilation systems.
• Ability to read mechanical plans, specifications, wiring diagrams, and control sequences.
• EPA Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with commercial construction projects and tenant improvements.
• Knowledge of DDC controls and building automation systems.
• Startup and commissioning experience.

Compensation
