Pay: $20–$30/hr, based on experience. Qualified lead installers and foremen can earn toward the top of that range.
The work:
Residential and commercial HVAC installation, including split systems, rooftop package units, ductless mini-splits, flexible and sheet metal ductwork, spiral ductwork, copper line sets (brazing, flaring), drain and gas piping, flue vents, thermostat wiring, and system start-up/vacuum/charging.
Foreman requirements:
3+ years of HVAC installation experience.
Can read job plans and specs.
Comfortable installing split systems, rooftop units, and ductless systems independently.
Handles copper, refrigerant, ductwork, piping, and start-up without hand-holding.
Communicates clearly with customers, sales, warehouse, and helpers.
Keeps the job site clean and organized.
Has your own tools.
Speaks, reads, and writes English.
Helper requirements:
1+ years of HVAC installation experience.
Takes direction well and shows up ready to work.
Helps with ductwork, fittings, dampers, boot boxes, and equipment.
Understands basic jobsite communication.
Has basic hand tools.
