Job Overview
The HVAC Field Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing HVAC projects in the field. This role oversees crews, schedules, subcontractors, and materials for both commercial and residential jobs, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and manage multiple HVAC projects simultaneously (commercial and residential).
Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to meet project timelines.
Conduct pre-job walkthroughs, job kickoffs, and regular site inspections.
Review plans, specifications, and scope of work; identify conflicts or changes.
Work closely with estimators and office staff to develop and track project budgets.
Order and track materials, equipment, and rentals; minimize delays and waste.
Monitor job progress, quality of installation, and adherence to codes and company standards.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
Communicate clearly with clients, general contractors, inspectors, and internal team.
Prepare and maintain project documentation: daily reports, change orders, RFIs, schedules, and close-out documents.
Assist with start-up, commissioning, and turnover of systems.
Resolve onsite issues quickly and professionally.
Experience
2+ years of HVAC experience, with at least 1 year in a lead, foreman, superintendent, or project management role.
Strong knowledge of commercial and residential HVAC systems, installation practices, and local mechanical codes.
Proven experience managing field crews and multiple projects at once.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and mechanical drawings.
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
OSHA 10/30 Certified
Experience working with general contractors and on plan/spec or design-build projects.
