HVAC Service Technician – Guardian Home Services

Guardian Home Services is looking for an experienced, dependable HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team.

We are a local, family-owned company providing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services. We believe in treating customers fairly, providing quality workmanship, and taking care of our employees. Our technicians are hourly employees — we do not require commission-based selling or high-pressure sales.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems up to 20 tons
Perform preventive maintenance and system inspections
Troubleshoot HVAC electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigerant-related problems
Diagnose system failures accurately and efficiently
Repair or replace defective HVAC components
Install new HVAC systems according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes
Perform start-ups and verify proper system operation
Check refrigerant pressures, temperatures, airflow, electrical components, and system performance
Clearly explain findings and repair options to customers
Complete service documentation and invoices accurately on job site.
Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle
Keep the office updated throughout the workday regarding job status
Collect customer payments
Maintain a clean and professional work area
Follow all company safety procedures and HVAC industry standards
Qualifications
Previous HVAC service and repair experience required
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Experience working on residential and light commercial HVAC equipment
Knowledge of heat pumps, straight-cool systems, air handlers, package units, mini-splits, and commercial HVAC equipment
Understanding of electrical troubleshooting and HVAC controls
Ability to work independently and make accurate diagnoses
Ability to read wiring diagrams and manufacturer specifications
Strong customer service and communication skills
Professional appearance and attitude
Must be dependable and punctual
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Must be able to safely lift and carry HVAC equipment, tools, and materials
Must be comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and outdoor Florida conditions
