THE OPPORTUNITY

The Source and Recruit Company has been retained by Alliance Group Services to assist in the recruitment of an experienced HVAC Service Technician for its North Clarendon, Vermont service team. All candidate inquiries and conversations will be handled confidentially.

Alliance Group Services is an established New England mechanical contractor providing HVAC, building automation, mechanical construction, electrical, and related building services throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HVAC technician who enjoys working independently in the field while still having the support of a knowledgeable and collaborative service team.

  • Position: HVAC Service Technician
  • Location: North Clarendon, Vermont
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
  • Compensation: $30.00-$50.00 per hour, based on experience and technical competencies

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The HVAC Service Technician will troubleshoot, maintain, inspect, and repair a broad variety of HVAC and mechanical equipment.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC/R and related mechanical system issues.
  • Perform repairs and obtain replacement parts as needed.
  • Calibrate and service systems according to manufacturer recommendations and accepted industry practices.
  • Safely perform and document preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Service mini-splits, boilers, refrigeration systems, oil and propane burners, chillers, packaged rooftop units, and other HVAC equipment.
  • Communicate equipment conditions, service timelines, recommendations, and resolutions clearly to customers.
  • Document serviced and installed equipment, including make, model, serial number, fuel type, test measurements, and photographs when appropriate.
  • Identify potential equipment upgrades, service agreements, or additional service opportunities and communicate them internally.
  • Maintain appropriate parts, tools, materials, and safety equipment in the company vehicle.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment and service vehicle.
  • Participate in the rotating on-call schedule.
  • Build trusted customer relationships while representing Alliance professionally.

SERVICE TERRITORY & COMPANY VEHICLE

The service territory generally extends from Vergennes to Bennington and Granville to Ludlow.

A company service vehicle is provided and may be taken home. Technicians can frequently travel directly from home to their first service call rather than reporting to the North Clarendon office every morning.

The on-call rotation is typically one week approximately every five weeks.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • At least 3 years of direct HVAC experience in residential or commercial service environments.
  • EPA certification.
  • Vermont gas license covering natural gas and propane strongly preferred.
  • NORA oil certification helpful.
  • Relevant electrical certifications are a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Effective customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently in the field.
  • Reliability, sound judgment, follow-through, discretion, and integrity.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and safely navigate ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and other field-service conditions.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States.
